A method for calculating static conditions of a dragline excavation system using dynamic simulation
نویسندگان
چکیده
-A technique to numerically obtain the static equilibrium s ta te of a conventional dragline excavation system is reported, including static pose of the bucket as well as internal loads acting on elements of the excavation system. Equilibrium conditions are generated by numerically integrat ing the dynamic equations of motion with the hoist and drag rope lengths fixed. It is shown tha t this method can be greatly accelerated with the application of artificial forces and moments proport ional to the velocity of the bodies tha t comprise the dragline excavation system. The benefits of appending artificial forces and moments are demonstra ted on an exemplar conventional dragline excavation system using a complex three-dimensional dynamic simulation model. In this model, the bucket, spreader bar, hoist cluster, and drag cluster are modeled as rigid bodies wi th 6 degrees of freedom apiece while the drag rope, hoist rope, dump rope, hoist chains, and drag chains are discretized into a finite number of visco-elastic elements. Results generated from the numerical stat ic pose simulation are compared against measured static pose da ta and agree favorably. © 2004 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved. Comparison of measured and simulated motion of a scaled dragline excavation system
Motion measurements obtained from a maneuvering 1/16-scale dragline excavation system using a six camera motion capture system are compared against motion predictions of the same scenario using a complex dragline excavation system simulation. The dynamic model includes motion of the bucket, spreader bar, hoist cluster, and drag cluster, along with flexible rope and chain segments including the ...
متن کاملSimulation of Store Separation using Low-cost CFD with Dynamic Meshing
The simulation of the store separation using the automatic coupling of dynamic equations with flow aerodynamics is addressed. The precision and cost (calculation time) were considered as comparators. The method used in the present research decreased the calculation cost while limiting the solution error within a specific and tolerable interval. The methods applied to model the aerodynamic force...
متن کاملThree dimensional static and dynamic analysis of thick plates by the meshless local Petrov-Galerkin (MLPG) method under different loading conditions
In this paper, three dimensional (3D) static and dynamic analysis of thick plates based on the Meshless Local Petrov-Galerkin (MLPG) is presented. Using the kinematics of a three-dimensional continuum, the local weak form of the equilibrium equations is derived. A weak formulation for the set of governing equations is transformed into local integral equations on local sub-domains by using a uni...
متن کاملA New Stability Approach using Probabilistic Profile along Direction of Excavation
Estimation of the possible instability that may be encountered in the excavation slope(s) during the planning and application steps of the rock excavation processes is an important issue in geoengineering. In this paper, a modelling method is presented for assessing the probability of wedge failure involving new permanent or temporary slope(s) along the planned excavation dir...
متن کاملA Novel Method to Increase the Power Capacity of Transmission Lines Using Transformerless Static Synchronous Series Compensator
In this paper a transformerless Static Synchronous Series Compensator (SSSC) to increase the power capacity of a 230 kV transmission line is proposed. In order to eliminate the transformer, a 15-level cascade H Bridge (CHB) inverter is employed within the proposed compensator structure to inject reactive power to the transmission line. The theory of instantaneous p-q power using in the compensa...
